Synthesis of novel monomers

This project involved a business unit with a medium sized specialist chemical company.

The company develop and supply monomers and other speciality chemicals into a number of sectors including home and personal care, health, coatings, rubbers, and have been established for over 100 years.

The requirement identified was to provide support to identify and prove the most appropriate synthetic route to a specific monomer.
We were also required to provide samples, information and analysis to support scale-up to production of kilogramme quantities at the company.

We performed desk-top studies to accurately identify the best synthetic route, and developed and demonstrated this by providing samples and full supporting data.
In addition support was provided help the business unit scale-up the synthesis.

Feedback from the company was extremely positive – and further similar collaborations followed.
